I should have posted this earlier in the week, but I’ve been distracted. I have rediscovered my love for Prismacolor Pencils. I had gone off them a little, as the paper I was using wasn’t the best. For my early efforts it worked fine, but as I’ve become more experienced at colouring, it just didn’t cut it! I picked up a pad of Extra Smooth Bristol Board, and am now happily colouring away. Fabulous results, and you will be seeing some cards made with the images I’ve been colouring very soon.
This card features one of the gorgeous new Mary Hall stamp designs from Sugar Nellie. The image has been coloured using Distress Inks and an aqua brush.
These images are a delight to colour, and make a great focal point for a card. They work equally well for simple and more detailed cards.
I am addicted to Crate Paper at the moment. Their papers are a little expensive, but the weight and texture are gorgeous, and I love the soft look they have. I’ve been buying the collection packs and sheets of my favourite papers when I see them on offer (and sometimes at full price, because they really are irresistible).
Stamps: Sugar Nellie Mary Hall – New Puppy, available from Funky Kits, Elzybells Sentiment.
CS/DP: Crate Paper – Brunch Collection.
Ink/Colouring: Versafine Onyx Black. Distress Inks. Twinkling H20s. Sakura Clear Glitter Pen.
Embellishments: Ribbon from SU and Poppicrafts.
Misc: Nestabilities Square dies. Martha Stewart Edge Punch. Scor-Pal.
Thanks for stopping by and for any comments, all much appreciated!
The postie just dropped a little packet through the door containing the lovely new spring Elisabeth Bell stamps by Sugar Nellie. Guess what I’ll be doing today? 😉
Wonderful card!
I so know what you mean about the card you use to colour. Someone told me it didn’t make a difference but it so does.
Your card is gorgeous!

Definitely makes a difference in every medium! Having learnt that a high quality watercolour paper would be important, and that paper choice is important with Copics, it was about time I followed suit with the Prismacolor Pencils.
a fabulous card Elaine, love your colouration and the papers are delish,( crete papers are lush..)
totally agree with you on the paper/card front with the different mediums,, makes all the difference.
