Last year I abandoned my faithful Epson printer and went with an HP all-in-one for convenience sake. Never again! The number of problems I had with that printer, I was just about ready to throw it through a window. So, after a lot of research and pondering, I finally bought a new printer last week, and I am now completely in love. Epson, I will never stray again!
I’ve been wanting to join in with the digi/hybrid fun for a while now, but the old printer just wasn’t up to the task on any level. I knew I would want to use digi stamps with the intention of colouring with Copic Markers, and I do not like to faff around heat setting or being careful not to touch the lines with lighter coloured markers. I wanted to be able to print and go! So, I opted for an Epson printer that uses their dye based Claria inks. I also wanted to be able to print digital papers, so I could use some of the gorgeous designs out there. The new printer is totally up to the task, and I have been happily printing out gorgeous background papers since the weekend. Hooray!
I won’t be abandoning my rubber any time soon, but it is nice to finally enjoy the flexibility and instant gratification of digital.
One reason I’m really happy to be able to join in the digi-fun at the moment is the Weiman Wranglers digital stamps from Pink Cat Studio. I’m sure most of you are aware of Ethan Weiman’s story by now (I read about it on Lauren Meader’s wonderful blog), but you can read all about Ethan and his family and buy the Weiman Wranglers images here. In honour of Ethan, the proceeds from the Weiman Wranglers digis go to the Make A Wish Foundation. It’s a wonderful cause, and the images are fantastic. Well worth supporting.
I’ve used the Cowboy Ethan image to create a (belated, because I am useless!) birthday card for a little boy called Lucas. So much fun, and this card is a complete digi-fest, with Ragtag Cowboy papers from Design by Dani.
Ethan has been coloured with Copics, and as always, you will find the complete list of markers used at the end of this post.
In something of a coincidence, I’ll be posting pictures later this week of a card I’m making for Lucas’ new baby brother – Ethan – who has just arrived home after spending over seven weeks in hospital. He was premature, and has a hole in the heart and Down’s Syndrome. He’s doing well now though, and his family are very happy to have him home.
In news from Quixotic Paperie: the gorgeous new C.C. Designs stamps are sitting in customs, along with lots of lovely rubber from The Greeting Farm. Shouldn’t be long now, so keep an eye on this blog and Quixotic Paperie.
Some gorgeous new charms have just landed on my desk, and will be added to the shop this afternoon, so look out for those!
Be sure to pop back tomorrow to check out my Copic Colour Challenge DT card – I’ve been playing with the gorgeous Paper Pretties stamps!

Hi Elaine
Thanks for all your comments on my blog i really appreciate them.
Interesting about your printer, i bought a new one too, i had a lexmark which was great but heavy and expensive on the ink so Epson it was. All has been fine but i like to print mine on card and a top loader is required, the lexmark was great for this but the Epson doesnt like it very much. I can be heard screaming many a time in my craft room. It takes the card put has to be helped.
Your card is fab and i will take a look at those digi images. i will pop by again soon
Hugs di xxxx
