Wicked Wednesday is here again! When I start thinking about my life as a series of Wednesdays, it gets a little scary. Hah!
On this particular Wednesday I’m slightly hyper, but I’ll tell you all about that on Friday. In the meantime, you know the drill, we’ve got another Quixotic Challenge for you!
*** How Distressing! ***
This week Simonne has asked to see distressing techniques on your cards/projects.
On a day to day basis I’m fairly often distressed or distressing, but I only dabble in distressing on my cards/projects from time to time. Hah! I never pull the technique off quite like Judy or Rowena, so I tend to leave it to them and the rest of you with the distressed touch. Still, I quite like this card…and the image actually works pretty well with the challenge title too!
The image is of course, another of Mo Manning’s brilliant illustrations, now brought to you in glorious rubber by Stamping Bella. This is Toby. He’s two, and the whole world knows it! You can find Toby Is Two HERE at Quixotic Paperie for those of you in the UK/Europe. For those of you in the US/Canada you can grab him over at Stamping Bella. And for the digi lovers among you, you can of course find him over at Mo’s Digital Pencil.
I coloured Toby using Copics, and took a little inspiration from one of my Copic idols – Linda Heavens. You can check out her Toby card HERE. Fabulous, no? Love how Linda combines Copics and Prismacolor Pencils so perfectly.
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20, R21, R22 Hair: E50, E53, E35, E37 Outfit: BG93, BG96, BG99, E50, E51, E53, E57 Ground/Shading: W00, W1, W2, W3, YR0000, YR20
Toby is Two does come with a perfect coordinating sentiment, but I have been itching to use this fab Paper Makeup Stamps sentiment for a while, and this seemed like the perfect time. You can grab the “Bad Day?” sentiment HERE at Quixotic Paperie.
Papers are Basic Grey “Granola” available HERE. Buttons are available HERE. Natural Twine is available HERE. I used my Tim Holtz Distressing Tool to rough up the paper edges, Distress Inks sponged around the image and sentiment and a paper piercing tool to frame the image (somewhat haphazardly).
That’s all from me, for now! Do pop over and check out the Quixotic Challenge blog, where you will see a couple more Mo images courtesy of the fabulous DT!
hehehe what a fab card! Just love your fabulous colouring. Super papers and layout too
love tasha xx
Oooo I love this card! I can’t distress at all, funny that cause I often feel distressed, feel like someones gone around my edges with a pair of scissors!
Love the image, he’s so cute even if in a temper! Love your colouring as always, and the buttons are a perfect addition.
