Before I show you my card for this week’s Quixotic Challenge, I have some news to share!
There are some changes happening at Quixotic Paperie! All for the better, we hope!
Firstly, the Quixotic Challenge blog has now been merged with the Quixotic Paperie Store Blog to give you the Quixotic Paperie Inspirations Blog. This should make things more streamlined, and allow us to bring you lots of inspiration and fun all in one place. It will be the best place to get all the latest news and info from Quixotic Paperie, and to see all the wonderful inspiration from the Design Team.
With this change to the blogs, we will also be changing the challenge from a weekly challenge to a monthly one. This will happen as of October, so you still have this week and next week to join in for a chance at September’s prize draw!
Time to tell you about this week’s challenge and show you my challenge make!
This week’s challenge was set by me, and I would like to see you go all…
*** SPOOKTACULAR! ***
Create a card or project with a spooky/gothic theme. Could be for Halloween, but doesn’t have to be!
Lots of scope there! You could make something Halloween themed, or just something spooky or gothic. Really go for it, or be like me and just use a witchy image!! Haha!
For my card I wanted to use a stamp that hasn’t seen ink for quite some time! In fact, I don’t think I actually blogged a card using this cutie last year. Tsk. Time to remedy that!
Meet LITTLE WITCH WITH BROOM designed by none other than Elisabeth Bell for Belles ‘n Whistles. This adorable little witch has just been re-released in the current Belles ‘n Whistles clear photopolymer range, and is now available to pre-order here in the UK at Quixotic Paperie. She’s due to arrive in stock around the end of September, along with the other gorgeous Belles ‘n Whistles holiday stamps.
I had the most fun colouring her! And I even ventured a little out of my box and played around with the grass technique Kim Costello demonstrated over on Color Me Copic. I’ll be doing this again, it’s so effective. I definitely need some more practice though, my grass is a little heavy handed in comparison to Kim’s!
The gorgeous papers are MEMORY BOX – BLACKBIRD. This is definitely one of my current favourite paper packs. In fact all the Memory Box 6×6 paper packs are favourites, they are so gorgeous! The multi-looped bow was tied using the BOW-EASY template and topped with a flatbacked gem.
Copic Markers used:
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, R21 Hair: E21, E97, E99 Outfit: B63, B66, W3, W5, W7, W9, 100, YR61, YR65, YR68
Broom: E30, E34, E35, E57, E59 Pumpkins: Y15, YR02, YR07, R39 Sky: B0000, B52 Grass: YG93, G82, G85, BG93, BG96
That’s all from me for now! Make sure you pop by the Quixotic Paperie Inspirations Blog and see what the other girls have been up to!
