This week at Make It Colourful, the challenge is to colour a WATER SCENE! Perfect for the new images Zoe just released at Make It Crafty.
You can find all the rules and info on how to enter over on the Make It Colourful blog, along with some fantastic inspiration from the Design Team.
I’m actually sponsoring this week’s challenge with a £10 voucher for Quixotic Paperie. And if you’re in love with the images from Make It Crafty, you’re in luck – the rubber stamps are all in stock here in the UK at Quixotic Paperie PLUS I also have the fantastic Make It Crafty Lasercut Chipboard packs in stock!
So, on to my card! I had SO much fun doing this one. You may not be aware, but one of my absolute favourite things to do is create scenes by masking stamps or merging digis. I don’t get the time to do it as often as I would like, unfortunately, but it’s definitely when I have the most fun.
I used three of the new images, which are all available in both digi and rubber. I will provide links at the end of this post to the images so you can easily find them!
The gorgeous character is Summer Dreams. LOVE that hair, and the dress. Perfect to get stuck in and colour. The main scene is The Beach and I added the separate Sandcastle image for some extra interest.
Coloured with Copic Markers.
Skintones: E0000, E000, E00, E11, T2 Hair: C2, C4, C6, C9, B63 Hat: E000, E30, E31 Dress, Ribbon & Shoes: R0000, R20, R21, R22, T4
Sand: E0000, E000, E30, E31, E33 Water: BG0000, BG70, BG72, BG75 Sky: B0000, B52
One of the reasons I love creating a scene like this one – it makes it really easy to leave the rest of the card clean and simple. Since deciding on papers and embellishments often ends up being the longest part of the process for me, this is ideal!
Hope you enjoyed checking out my card today. If you have time, do stop by the challenge blog, the other DT creations are brilliant, and we would love to see you playing along, whatever colouring medium you use! This is NOT a Copic only challenge. 🙂
