Today is a pretty exciting day – the new Saturated Canary rubber stamp release is now available to pre-order! The stamps are all available on pre-order over at Quixotic Paperie in the Saturated Canary section, and are expected to arrive in stock around mid August.
To celebrate, I wanted to post a fun project. I’ve been playing with the Make it Crafty Ferris Wheel kit, and managed to finish it at the weekend. It looks so awesome all decorated, and I love the fact that it turns. I can see this as a fun centre piece for a party, or a sweet decoration for a kid’s room, or well, a big kid’s room. 😉 Most of all, it’s just so much fun to put together and so satisfying once finished.
I covered the wheel and main supports in paper, and used acrylic paint for the cars, to create a similar look to the paper I used.
To create the backdrop I used a piece of 12×12 cardstock in blue, and added MFT Die-Namics die cuts from Flat Bottom Clouds and Fresh Cut Grass to create the little scene. I think it looks pretty cute! Sadly the photo didn’t quite turn out as I hoped, but the lighting here was a bit patchy yesterday.
The sweet little character is Birthday Ellie, one of the Saturated Canary images now available to order in rubber stamp form! I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Make it Colour Blending Card and coloured with ShinHan Touch Twin Markers before cutting her out to stand in front of my ferris wheel.
Hope you enjoyed checking this little project out as much as I enjoyed doing it! Happy Monday…hope the week treats you well.
Wow Elaine! This is awesome!! Such a perfect blend of fabulous colors on both the ferris wheel and Birthday Ellie.
This is super gorgeous and would look great framed for a child’s room!!
