Wednesday again! For the second week in a row I’ve got a quick snap of my desk to share for WOYWW #253 over at Julia’s Stamping Ground. Not bad! For the uninitiated, visit > this page < for an explanation of WOYWW and how to join in.
Here’s a snap of my desk from Tuesday evening. I tidied up after finishing a pile of cards, so a photo taken this morning would be rather dull!
As you can see, I’ve been doing some die-cutting and card assembling. It was time to turn some coloured images into cards before the pile took on a life of its own.
Now, please do stick with me, I’ve got a journal page and two cards to show you!
If you dropped by earlier in the week you may have seen my post on Monday, featuring one of the new stamp releases from SCACD Stamps. The journal page shown on Monday could actually be glimpsed in my WOYWW #252 pic last week. Today’s page is from the same book and is actually the very first page in the journal.
Full supplies lists can be found at the bottom of this post, for those interested!
Meet “Water”. She is one of the new Elements Collection stamps, and she is a beauty.
This page is in a hardback 8.5″x11″ mixed media journal, although I created the main part of the page on a piece of paper from a Canson XL mixed media pad. I coloured “Water” using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils on top of a thin layer of gesso.
Here’s a closer look:
I also coloured “Water” with my trusty markers (Copics this time) on Make it Colour Blending Card. Here’s the resulting card:
Water comes with a fun scales accessory stamp which I used to create a quick and simple card together with a fun die-cutting technique I picked up from Jennifer McGuire.
Thank you for joining me today! I hope you’ve enjoyed my post. If so, please do leave a comment, I’d love to hear from you. 🙂

Well what a coincidence that you and Morag should post on the list together..and you’re both on water-y, mermaids-y themes! water is indeed a beauty, made more so by your colouring skills for sure. Gosh, I don’t colour and then make into cards. Indeed, I need to think hard about the last time I did proper colouring……you may be my prompt!
Your pages are lovely! Have a great week, Chris # 35
