Happy World Card-making Day! I hope you’re managing to sneak in some crafty fun this weekend.
I’ve got a sweet little card to share with you today and I have to say I’m pretty pleased with myself. Why? It’s a Christmas card! I’m not known for being an early bird when it comes to Christmas preparations, but I could not resist colouring up the adorable new Christmas fairy from Tiddly Inks Clear Stamps. I actually have her all stamped up again with one of the accessory stamps from the set, so look out for some more inspiration soon!
Did You Know?
Before I share my card, I’d like to draw your attention to something I have been working on adding to posts again lately. I know that many of you appreciated the marker information I used to share on my posts. I have finally got my act together and started recording that information again, this time in handy pinnable colour palettes. You will find one towards the end of this post, and you can find other posts that include them by checking the Marker Palettes category. I have been working on adding them to some of my other recent posts, so if you’ve been dying to know which Copic markers I used on a particular image you may find your curiosity satisfied!
The Card:
Willow the Christmas Fairy and a whole host of other Tiddly Inks clear stamps are available over in my online store Quixotic Paperie (restocks of popular sets also arrived in stock recently).
The Details:
Willow the Christmas Fairy was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card before being coloured using Copic markers. The card is A6 (4″x6″ approx) size and is top folding. The background was coloured with Copic markers and I created the snow effect using the colourless blender pen.
The snowflakes were cut from pearlescent white cardstock using the Penny Black Crystal Trio (#51-066) die set, and I added some little flat back gems to the centre of each. The “Believe” sentiment was cut from white cardstock using the Penny Black Exultations (#51-060) die set then coloured with a Wink of Stella gold glitter pen and curved slightly when placed on the card.
The die-cut snowflakes and sentiment were stuck down using a new UK product from the lovely people over at Craft Obsessions. Together with Ken Oliver they have created adhesive sheets specifically for use with intricate die cuts: Stick-It Die-Cut Adhesive. I’ll be blogging a little review of this product next week, but suffice to say I will be ordering more!
I also covered the visible edges of the black cardstock mat with Wink of Stella glitter pen, and you can get a hint of the beautiful sparkle in the above photo.
I’m entering this card in the latest Tiddly Inks challenge – Make it Sparkle!
