Today I am delighted to be joining in with a fun video hop for one of my favourite bloggers: Sandy Allnock. I love Sandy’s work, especially her Copic colouring which is a total inspiration and her enthusiasm is infectious. Not only is she a fantastic colourist, Sandy has some very bright ideas indeed as you will see when you read on!

The Hop Details:

Today’s video hop is all about showcasing a new product Sandy Allnock has come up with – the Hex Chart. If you are just joining the hop and would like to start from the beginning, hop on over to Sandy’s Blog now!

Sandy has designed a colour chart to display colours visually rather than numerically, so that you see visually similar colours grouped together rather than numerically similar colours. This is actually really helpful, particularly when looking for new marker combos to try out. It is also useful to see which colours are very similar to each other, either to make choices when purchasing new markers or to easily find alternative colours when you have a marker that needs refilling. Sandy’s video will give you a full explanation of the chart and comparisons with the other Copic colour charts that are already out there. You will see that the Hex Chart compliments the existing chart designs very nicely.

The Hex Chart Bundle comes with a blank version for colouring by hand and a colour version which would obviously be useful when selecting markers to add to your collection. The Card Details:

The stamp I used is The Greeting Farm Super Secret Stamp Club #10 Sage. You can only buy the SSSC stamps direct from The Greeting Farm, either as part of the stamp club or at a later date via the main website. SSSC #10 Sage is now available on the main website.

This is my second shaker card ever. I may have a new addiction blossoming. 😉 One of my fellow hop participants today is to blame – Jennifer McGuire. Jennifer has some fantastic and easy to follow videos on creating shaker cards, so if you’ve never made one and are looking to get started make sure you check her blog.

I created the shaker card using three of the dies from the Mama Elephant “Sew Fancy” die set. Love this set with all the different details. It made putting this little card together nice and simple!

The “Hello” sentiment was die cut from black card and layered a few times to make it stand out nicely (a little trick I picked up from Jennifer McGuire). I also covered it with a clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen. Note: I used Stick It! die cut adhesive sheets when die cutting the sentiment, these make it so much easier and less messy to work with delicate die cuts.

I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card before colouring with Copic Markers (colour palette below).

I buy the majority of my Mama Elephant stamp sets/dies from my friend Tara at Make the Day Special here in the UK. US readers can find them direct from Mama Elephant or a number of retailers.
