I’ve got a quick but cute card to share today featuring one of the adorable otters from the MFT Stamps Otterly Love You clear stamp set. I’ve had these for a while, because hello irresistible cuteness, but have only just found the time to get some of the otters stamped and coloured. Typical!

MFT Stamps Otterly Love You Card:
CAS about sums it up, right? Haha! I really love clean and simple designs, and this one turned out really well. Because I knew I wanted to create an inked background for the image using Ranger Distress Oxides, I used a different cardstock to my usual favourite Make it Colour Blending Card. For Distress Ink and Distress Oxide blending I really love Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper.
The background was created by using the negative frame created by die cutting a large heart shape from masking paper, and also masking the otter before inking using Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Broken China. Before removing the masks I also very lightly spritzed the background with a water spray. I heat set the ink and then moved on to Copic colouring (colours used are provided below).
The sentiment was created using a Lawn Fawn alphabet die set. I die cut a few of each letter from black cardstock backed with Stick It adhesive, layered them together to create thick letters and then positioned them on the card before covering them with Ranger Glossy Accents for some shine (I added some to the otter’s nose too).
At the time of writing, Tracy over at Dies to Die For here in the UK has the Otterly Love You set in stock along with the coordinating die set and lots of other My Favorite Things goodies. If they are out of stock, use the “Notify When Back In Stock” feature at the bottom of the product description – this is a really handy feature that not only lets you know when something arrives in stock, but also lets Tracy ensure she has enough stock on the way!
