You know on Monday I said Oddball Mad Hatter was my favourite new stamp? Well, now I’m looking at him again, Oddball Caterpillar is my favourite. That’s pretty much how it works. Whichever one I’m looking at is my favourite. Yup.
Oddball Caterpillar Card
I just had to use the Gnome Backdrop stamp to set the scene for this chap. It’s perfect, definitely not just for gnomes! You can watch me colour a different version of this backdrop stamp in an older post HERE.
Stamps Used: Oddball Caterpillar, Alice in Wonderland Sentiments set, Gnome Backdrop
I stamped and masked the scene, remembering to stamp my foreground image – the Caterpillar – first, mask him, and then stamp my background.
For masking I like to use Eclipse Masking Tape *. I stamped the images on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card before colouring with Copic Markers. The Caterpillar in Copic-friendly MFT Extreme Black ink, and the background in Ranger Archival Shadow Grey. Stamping the background in a lighter colour helps to keep it in the background and create an impression of distance.
The sentiment is from the new Alice in Wonderland Sentiment set.

Oh how I enjoyed watching you color this guy. He is just too cute.?. The amazing part was that I would have never guessed the color combos you used. I was so surprised to see you using so many of the BGs. I see it now but thought for sure it was mostly Gs. And the mushroom , I usually use E40s but the E70s combos look even better. I’m always learning something new from you dear. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
Thank you Vanessa! Lovely to hear from you. Yes, I do like mixing it up with the E tones – don’t just stick to the same group!
