Today I’m sharing some cards created using images coloured while testing coloured pencils in my stash. Over the years I have collected a number of brands of coloured pencil, and I thought it would be fun to do more posts comparing them. I’m also mindful of the fact that not all craft budgets will stretch to the most expensive artist pencils, and I’ll be sharing more content showing a variety of colouring to suit all pockets. Stick with me to see some adorable puppy cards, and get full info on the pencils used to colour each version.

Puppy Cards

Something else I’m trying to do this year is create more varied everyday cards, so I have a stash ready for all occasions and recipients. The little puppy dog stamp I used on these cards is a favourite, and an absolute joy to colour.

I stamped the images on my favourite card for coloured pencils – Bockingford Hot Pressed Watercolour Card*. Each image was coloured purely using the coloured pencils themselves, no solvent.
I used an older Memory Box stencil with Delicata Metals Ink* on a Distress Ink* blended background for each card.

Coloured Pencils Used:

Here are all of the images side by side, followed by a list of the coloured pencils used for each.

In my capacity as a design team member for Purple Onion Designs, I receive stamps to work with from the company. I also have a collection of Purple Onion Designs stamps that I have purchased myself. Whether using stamps I have been sent, or stamps I have purchased, all opinions and creative decisions remain my own. I only work with companies/use products that I love.
