Earlier in the week I shared a Copic coloured version of today’s card and video. To check that out you can head HERE. Today I’m doing the same thing, but with coloured pencils. Watch me colour using coloured pencils on Kraft or toned tan paper below.
Nice to See You Petunia Card
I love how this one turned out. Coloured pencils on Kraft or toned tan paper are one of my favourite things. This image is a favourite too – those chicks are so cute.
Stamps: Nice to See You Petunia, Unicorn Sentiment Set
I stamped the image on Strathmore Toned Tan paper* before colouring with Prismacolor Premier coloured pencils*. I added the sentiment by partially stamping one of the sentiments from the Unicorn Sentiment set.

Loved watching !!! Question, what sharpener do you use? My pencils seem to break when I use the prismacolor sharpener. Thanks!
Hi Nancy! So happy you enjoyed the video. I have a whole blog post talking about sharpeners I’ve tried, and my personal favourites. Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/2YlRUbq Hope it helps!
You are so talented! I am so intrigued by the color combos! I’m so afraid of making it all wrong
Thank you Sandy! Just years of practice and experimenting, really. 🙂
Put aside the fear – enjoy the process. What is the worst thing that could happen? 🙂 It’s ink or pencil and paper. The best way to figure it out is to do it – play and experiment.
I loved watching this. You make it look so easy! I have a full set of prismacolor pencils and for Christmas just received the full set of Faber Castell Polychromos, but I don’t know where to start! Everything I have coloured so far has not been good. LOL I think I am too heavy handed, I think I am just having trouble using a light enough pressure. But I will keep persevering, I am inspired by your videos. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Jodene, thank you! Light layers are definitely the key! Remember that I have had lots of practice. 🙂 If you’re struggling to loosen up and go lightly, try holding your pencil further back.
