I’ve been playing with more adorable Purple Onion Designs rubber stamps. I have a real soft spot for Stacey Yacula’s little birds, and I love how today’s sweet and simple bird card turned out!
Sweet & Simple Bird Card
While I love making a scene (ha!), sometimes it is fun to keep things really simple. Here I decided to make the sentiment the focal point, and have the little birds drawing you in.
Stamps Used: Robin (flying striped-t bird) , Finch (sitting striped-t bird), Essential Thoughts Sentiment Set
I masked and stamped the images on Winsor & Newton Bristol Board* before doing some Distress Oxide* ink blending (Tumbled Glass) through a stencil, then colouring with Copic Markers and coloured pencils.
Copic Markers Used:
Birds: E41,E31,E71 / E0000,E30,BV31 / YR23 / W00,W3,W5
Coloured Pencils Used:
Caran D’Ache Pablos* in Dark Carmine, Purple, Light Purple – to add stripes to t-shirts.

In my capacity as a design team member for Purple Onion Designs, I receive stamps to work with from the company. I also have a collection of Purple Onion Designs stamps that I have purchased myself. Whether using stamps I have been sent, or stamps I have purchased, all opinions and creative decisions remain my own. I only work with companies/use products that I love.
