I’ve got another fun Copic mermaid scene card to share with you today! Here’s the second card I created for my Sweet November Stamps guest spot.
If you missed the card I created using “Resting” you can find it HERE.
Sweet November Stamps Resting Card
Harbor Sunnyshore is available now from Amy’s Sweet November Stamps store. She is a digital image, and comes with the three penguins as a ready made JPG scene, or as separate PNG files for creating your own stories.
My idea for this card was to create a bright colourful scene. At first I planned on going for an Antarctic scene, but then decided these could be Galapagos penguins instead. I looked up some fish from that area and found the Cortez Rainbow Wrasse to be the perfect inspiration for Harbor’s tail.
Stamps Used: Harbor Sunnyshore digi set, Stamping Bella Under the Sea Sentiments rubber stamp set
I’ve already got another scene printed and ready to colour using Harbor Sunnyshore and one of the other mermaids, so watch out for that! The mermaid fun will continue throughout June and July, I daresay.
I printed the image on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card before colouring with Copic Markers. I used a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen* to add to the sparkly effect on the tail.

The digital stamp featured in this post was sent to me by Sweet November Stamps. Whether using stamps I have been sent, or stamps I have purchased, all opinions and creative decisions remain my own. I only work with companies/use products that I love.
Love it, I’m trying to get beach scene techniques down, practice, practice.
What kind of printer do you have that you can use Copic markers and not have the black ink bleed?
It’s all about that practice!
I’ve had a few printers that play nicely with printing digis for Copic colouring. A laser printer will work because it uses toner and Copics were created to work with toner. I use an inkjet printer however, and mine is a Canon Pixma. In the past I’ve used an Epson printer with their Claria dye based inks which work well too. The Canon Pixma printers work out cheaper though. The paper you use will make a difference – ink will behave differently on different papers. You can also try adjusting your print settings to a lower quality, which uses less ink. Heat setting may also help, or simply printing ahead of time and leaving images to sit for a few days.
Hope that helps!
