Last year I picked up a box of Derwent Metallic Pencils, and had fun trying them out on black paper. Sadly, life got in the way and I ended up being too late to share the results. Thankfully, I managed to find the colouring recently, so I can finally share it!

Happy Pumpkins Metallic Pencil Card

Taking a good photo of metallic pencil is like capturing glitter or shimmer. Headache inducing. In the light and in person they are absolute gorgeous though, and perfect for Halloween cards.

Purple Onion Designs Happy Pumpkins Metallic Pencil Card featuring Stacey Yacula rubber stamps

Stamps Used: Happy Pumpkins, Essential Happy Sentiment Set
Dies Used: MFT Dienamics Stitched Arch Frames, Memory Box Bats

I stamped the image on Strathmore Artagain paper* before colouring using the Derwent Metallic 20th Anniversary set* of pencils. I don’t remember the ink I used, unfortunately, but I have since been experimenting again, and will hopefully share something else coloured on black soon with more useful info! The sentiment was stamped using Delicata ink.

In my capacity as a design team member for Purple Onion Designs, I receive stamps to work with from the company. I also have a collection of Purple Onion Designs stamps that I have purchased myself. Whether using stamps I have been sent, or stamps I have purchased, all opinions and creative decisions remain my own. I only work with companies/use products that I love.
