One of our nieces turned ten years old at the weekend. She loves animals, and sloths are among her favourites. Of course, I bought the Mama Elephant Little Sloth Agenda set with her in mind. Our nieces inspire quite a lot of my crafty purchases, not that I actually need that much swaying! Check out the sloth birthday card and gift bag I created for her below.
Sloth Birthday Card & Gift Bag
I had a lot of fun playing with some long neglected stash to create these! For starters, I pulled out my Distress Oxide inks. It has been way too long since I played with my inks. I’ve listed the ink colours used below together with the Copic colours.
Stamps Used: Little Sloth Agenda, Swinging Borders
Dies Used: Big Happy Birthday, Framed Tags Madison Avenue, Favor Bag, Favor Bag Accessory Dog, Favor Bag Accessory Bear, Lawn Fawn Finley’s ABCs
I used a couple of different Favor Bag Accessory die sets to create the sloth face, as Mama Elephant don’t have a specific sloth set. This is one of the things I love about these die sets – lots of different possibilities. I did have to trim the piece for the face down and I used glossy enamel dots for the eyes, but the other elements are die cut.
The links above are for Dies to Die For in the UK, where I purchase most of my Mama Elephant goodies. If you’re in the US you can of course find everything at Mama Elephant. I fussy cut the sloths and leaf borders, but you can get the coordinating die sets for these if you prefer to die cut.
I stamped the images on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card before colouring with Copic Markers.
