Today the whole Stamping Bella team have something incredibly special to us to share with you. If you don’t already know, Stamping Bella’s founder – Emily Block – passed away in November 2022. Today – 25th June – is Emily’s birthday, and we wanted to do something extra special to celebrate her. So, we have a tiny but perfectly formed release, that includes our beautiful ForeverBella immortalised as an Uptown Girl. There’s also a SALE – more on that at the end of my post.
Uptown Girl Emily Da Bella
This stamp is EXTRA special. I mean, it’s Emily as an Uptown Girl so it’s already pretty special, but there’s more. All profits from sales of this one will be donated to the Emily Block Memorial Fund. In honour of Emily’s creative spirit, the fund supports art therapy programs for the children’s psychiatry department at the JGH in Montreal.
I also used the new sentiment set I designed for this release. That was probably the hardest part for me. The phrases are all things that would often pop up in messages from Emily. I always knew if I saw a notification coming in starting “LET ME TELL YOU…” or “OMG YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE!” I was in for a juicy story. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I miss those messages. How much I miss Emily. I especially miss the way she would tell me “You are absolutely OUTSTANDING! I love you!” and then say “but I know you hate the mushy stuff so also f*** off”. I loved that. SHE was absolutely outstanding. I can’t even with this situation, and I won’t ever.
Happy Birthday Emily. You’re never far from my thoughts. I will forever appreciate your faith in me, and your love throughout the years. I’m only sorry that I never got to give you a great big hug and tell you to f*** off in person. So thankful that I had you in my life at all. Sometimes you made me tear my hair out, but my life is immeasurably better for having known you. I know that’s the case for so many others too.
Sending all of my love to Ryan, Tyler, Jayden and all of Emily’s family and loved ones.

Emily’s Birthday Sale
Now, Emily usually had a sale on her birthday. We didn’t think this year should be any different, so between now and midnight on 5th July 2023 you can enjoy a storewide discount with a couple of exceptions. The Uptown Girl Emily Da Bella stamp is excluded because it is a charity fundraiser, and existing offers are also excluded.
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have enjoyed today’s post as much as I enjoyed creating it for you.

In my capacity as colourist and design team member for Stamping Bella, I do receive the stamps I use from them. All opinions and creative decisions remain my own, and I only work with companies/use products that I love.
Elaine, what a wonderful tribute to Emily. It’s beyond terrible when someone you know and love is gone too soon, but you’ve certainly shared a fabulous bit with the wicked humor you both shared! Thank you.
Hello, my name is Steve Phillips and my wife was Cheryl Phillips. Cheryl was the supervisor and craft person on the manufacturing of the Stamping Bella Stamps as well as many more companies over her 29 year career. Working for Bedell- Krause, later for Murr Rubber who closed the plant recently. She was a real artist in her own right. She was special in that she could mix and match paint and ink to the color chart almost perfectly. Sadly she passed on May 15th in her sleep. I remember her being excited to see the new artwork for the stamps at every release. And, she enjoyed working with Emily on all the different projects. Peace
Hi Steve, Cheryl was a truly lovely person. I enjoyed working with her albeit remotely over the past few years! I very much miss her dropping into my messages and was so sorry to hear of her passing back in May. My sincere condolences for your great loss. I know she is incredibly missed.
