I’m excited to say that recently I was invited to collaborate with Altenew. They sent me a couple of their Artist Alcohol Marker* sets to try out, and create with. Happily I already have some of their beautiful floral stamps on hand, so I had some fun playing with the markers and colouring up some blooms!
Calming Cluster Card
I picked this beautiful large floral cluster stamp from the Calming Cluster clear stamp set*. It was perfect for testing out the markers. They worked beautifully on my preferred paper for alcohol markers. The one small criticism I have is that the caps are a little harder to pull off than my other markers. They are dual ended with both a brush and fine tip, which both felt quite nice. The Altenew Artist Alcohol Markers* come in these sets with a nice little storage box, and they have a number of sets available in a variety of colour palettes. If you’re into colouring floral/nature images, the sets are beautifully curated for these, and they are a nice easy and affordable option if you’re looking to get into alcohol marker colouring. If you’re in to having everything matchy matchy, the colours are designed to be fairly close to Altenew dye inks*
You can purchase replacement brush nibs* for the markers, and they are refillable using the Altenew Alcohol Inks* which are available individually or in the same sets as the markers! I’m always happy when markers are refillable.
Colourwise – I didn’t pay much attention to the numbering, and simply went visually from a swatch when selecting the markers to blend. They blended nicely, and as you would hope, the colours in the sets work well together.
Let me know if you use these markers and are interested in more content featuring them! I’d be happy to incorporate them in some videos if you would find that helpful. Just drop me a comment or contact me on social media or via email.
