Occasionally you have an idea that turns out just as you pictured it! I signed up for Spellbinders’ The Weekender event, and have been enjoying watching the instructor videos and prepping some die cuts for some “just for fun” card making in between working on DT cards. Watching Yana Smakula’s video and looking at her cards with one of the die sets, I kept thinking of that iconic Wicked musical poster of Elphaba. I just had to go ahead and do it!

I used the new Ciao Spaghetti die set* which came in the Weekender box, and is now available to order on its own along with some of the other products from the box in the La Dolce Vita collection at Spellbinders*

I cut the face and lips from Spellbinders ColorWheel Cardstock* in Rainforest and Poppy, layering both of them a few times to give a little dimension. Then looking at the show poster, I created myself a little template to cut the silhouette and an extra hat layer from Spellbinders Brushed Black Cardstock*, popping the hat layer up using foam pads for some extra dimension. The word “wicked” was added in letters cut from pearlescent white cardstock using the Spellbinders Pooh Alphabet die set*, which I again layered a few times to create nice sturdy dimensional pieces.
