This week over on the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge blog, my fellow Krafty Girl Andrea is asking to see flowers.  Lots of flowers actually, a minimum of 3!  Perfect opportunity to use up some of the gorgeous paper roses that I hoard but never seem to use.

At the moment I’m trying to rediscover some of the joy in crafting.  Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in all the deadlines, the work aspect, and forget why you started doing this in the first place.  For me, it’s all about remembering to stop and enjoy the activity itself, rather than constantly running for the finish line.  Colouring is extremely therapeutic for me, and it almost always goes best when I’m enjoying it without worrying about a fast approaching deadline, too scared to experiment in case I mess it up and lose time having to start over!

So, with some Copic therapy in mind, I chose to use one of Crissy Armstrong’s gorgeous fairy images for this week’s challenge.  For me, the fairies represent some of Crissy’s best work, and they are perfect images in which to lose yourself for an hour.

The fairy I’ve used is Ophelia, and she is available from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps OR if you’re in the UK/Europe you can find her HERE at Quixotic Paperie.

Ophelia has been coloured with Copic Markers, and here’s the list.

Skin: Eooo, Eoo, E11, R20, R21 Hair: Y21, Y26, Y28, Outfit: G0000, G82, G85, G94, RV00, R85, R89, Rock: W2, W3, W5, W7  Bird: RV00, R85, R89

The background technique is one I picked up from Crissy Armstrong’s blog, and she has recently uploaded a video on this which you can view HERE.  At first it looks tricksy, but really, if you let yourself play and don’t worry about messing it up, you will find it comes more easily than you expect, and the results are beautiful.  If I can do it, you can do it!

The papers are Basic Grey “Green at Heart” (the solid green) available HERE and Crate Paper “Pink Plum” available HERE.  Adhesive crystals have been applied using the Mystical Flourishes set of Bazzill Basics Jewel Templates available HERE.

The roses have all been sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz available HERE, although you wouldn’t know that from the photos!

As it turns out, I actually unwittingly CASE’d myself on this one – see my Bird Fairy card HERE.  I wondered why I was getting a sense of deja-vu while layering up the papers! Haha!

That’s all from me, for now.  Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, whatever you’re up to, and make sure you stop by the Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps Challenge Blog and check out what my fellow Krafty Girls have been up to.

Join in the challenge – you could win Crissy’s Swinging Emmylou image, as that’s the one challenge hostess Andrea has used today!
