Firstly, I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has stopped by recently, and especially to those of you that have left comments. I love to hear from all of you, and only wish I had the time to visit you all in return. I have been trying to fit in a little more blog hopping lately, so I may get caught up with all your wonderful creations in the not too distant future!
I’d like to share a card in a softer style than those in my recent posts. I’ve used a new Carmen Medlin stamp from SCACD Stamps – 1st Signs of Spring which is available here in the UK at Quixotic Paperie along with the other Carmen Medlin stamps (US readers: 1st Signs of Spring is available at Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design).
Absolutely love this stamp, and can see her being used for a variety of occasions. Isn’t her face beautiful? The eyes are definitely one of my favourite things about Carmen’s images, and the detail has come out beautifully in the stamps. I’ll admit, when I saw this image in particular, there was a loud THUD as my jaw dropped.

The sentiment is from the Stempelglede Just A Note stamp set. Again, love these stamps, utterly gorgeous.
Papers are from the bottom of a drawer! I think they are Rusty Pickle. Bow-Easy for the perfect bow, with an 8mm Flat Back Pearl on top. Distress Ink to ink the edges of all layers.
The image has been coloured with Copics (no surprises there, right?!):
Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, W2 Hair: YR0000, Y21, Y26 Outfit/Tulips: B60, B63, B91, B93, B0000, E42, E44, E47, G82, G85, W3 Background: E40, E41, E43, W1, W2, W3, W5
I’ll be sharing more Carmen Medlin creations very soon – I’m totally in love, and I’ve got quite a few plans for the latest images. Since I’m a complete sucker for stamps featuring dogs, you can probably guess which one you’ll be seeing next!
In case you missed it, you can see a gorgeous tag by Kim Dellow featuring Carmen’s Guardian of Hearth & Home (complete with step-by-step pics on creating the distressed tag) over on the Quixotic Inspirations blog. You can see another beautiful take on this stamp by Jane Johnson. Put those together with Kim Costello’s stunning Pearl Princess card, Judy Laing’s wonderful Winter Walk card and Kim Dellow’s super sweet Cupcake & Kittens card, you can see why I’m falling in love!
The Quixotic Paperie DT and I are working on bringing you regular tips and tutorial features, so any requests or suggestions for content you’d like to see on the Quixotic Inspirations blog are welcome!
