I don’t make a lot of cards that don’t involve colouring.  For some reason though, this week I have felt more like experimenting than colouring, so here are a couple of  “experiments”.  I don’t make a lot of truly “clean and simple” cards either, so these really are a bit of an experiment for me!

Firstly, I’ve used a couple of KETTO stamps – ANISE KETTO’S FLOWERS.  These lend themselves to numerous applications, including colouring, creating a background for a more detailed card, and used simply as an outline, as I have done here.

I stamped the images using Versamark ink, and then sprinkled gold mica powder over them and tapped/brushed the excess away.  I used a chalk fixative spray to fix the powders.  Quite effective!  Actually you may be seeing this crop up on another couple of projects soon – I found the mica powder hidden at the bottom of a drawer and suddenly envisaged a number of uses for it!

My second card uses one of the new I AM journalling stampsLIFE IS LIKE RIDING A BICYCLE QUOTE.  I fully intend to use this one for art journalling and some altered art projects, but I also saw it as being perfect for a card, with its inspirational and motivating message.  I bought some of the other art journalling stamps too, and intend to use those both for journalling and cards too.

Again, I kept it simple.  The quote was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed (I think that was the first time I had used my heat gun in about six months – I used to use it almost daily!).  Ribbons from stash, bow tied using the Bow-Easy Bow Tying Template.

Thank you for indulging me!  Haha!  I promise, I will be back with plenty of Copic coloured creations next week!  Now it’s time to clear the mica powder up…that stuff is worse than glitter!
