If you liked my Oddball Mermaid scene on dark blue last week, I’ve got another one for you today, along with a video! Watch my Oddball Fish in coloured pencils on dark paper video below.

Oddball Fish Pencil Card

As with my Oddball Mermaid scene, I opted to stamp and colour on blue so I wouldn’t have to colour the background. I love colouring with pencils, but they do take longer, and they are more tiring for the hand. I’m also a little bit lazy… The orange of the fish looks great on that blue though, so yay!

There are a few different fish in the set, along with two sentiments. I chose just to use one of the fish to create a school, and well, this little guy cracks me up with his massive eyeball. I can’t see him without thinking about one of my favourite scenes from the film Bad Boys II.

Coloured Pencils on Dark Paper Video and Stamping Bella Oddball Fish Card

Stamps Used: Oddball Fish stamp set

I stamped the fish on some random blue card I found in a drawer. For masking I use Eclipse Masking Tape*. I coloured the scene using Caran D’Ache Luminance coloured pencils*. These pencils have a lovely creamy laydown and are a higher opacity, so they work beautifully on dark paper. Because they are quite opaque, they do cover up the stamped lines easily. I simply used a black pencil to retrace where needed.
