It is absolutely crazy how quickly each month is flying by. Today I’ve got some cards to share featuring the amazing new Spellbinders Club of the Month products. I’ve been having a lot of fun working with the products, because August’s theme is HALLOWEEN! The August club kit collection is called Crafty Boo Crew, and it is brilliant. If you’ve been following me here or on social media for a while, you will know that I am an absolute sucker for Halloween, and I am always ready to play with spooky stuff, especially from August onward.
First up for today I have a card featuring the new Clear Stamp & Die of the Month “Trick or Snark”, which includes some fun sentiments and this cute image stamp, which I of course had to stamp on my favourite Make it Colour Blending Card and colour with my Copic markers. I used the coordinating die to cut an aperture in a piece of Spellbinders Brushed Black cardstock, which I embossed using the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, which has two fun designs on it, giving you two different patterns for A2 sized cards. I added a hot foiled sentiment from an older favourite press plate and die set, which is currently on sale at Spellbinders with a nice discount, and a few little clay embellishments from my stash. This second card features one of the All Crates Club exclusive die sets: Scaredy Cat. I’m a dog person, but I love this one, it’s really fun. I couldn’t find the pack of action wobblers I know I have around here somewhere, but it would have been fun to add one to make this kitty’s head wobble! I used the Spellbinders Stripe Right etched die set to create the background, and of course all of the cardstock I used is Spellbinders ColorWheel card. I added a few little clay star embellishments from my stash.
Card number three features the August Stencil of the Month: Peek-a-BOO. I’m not a huge stencil girl, but this one was an instant favourite. I used my Pinkfresh Studio ink cubes with their amazing 1″ blending brushes for this one. I added the little ghost die cut that comes in the August Press & Foil club, which you will see in full on a card in tomorrow’s post! The hot-foiled sentiment comes from a non-club set, the new Yana’s City Holiday Happy Halloween Sentiments set. I’ll be sharing a couple of cards at the weekend featuring that new collection from Yana Smakula.
The fourth and final card for today might be my favourite. I used the new August Stitching Die of the Month kit: Frank-N-Stitch, along with the other half of the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month for that cool texture. This one comes together surprisingly easily, and you can opt to stitch or not stitch, it looks great either way. I just love to do a little stitching when I get the chance. You can’t see it in the photo, but I used the DMC Light Effects Glow in the Dark thread for the stitches.
