I’ve got some more makes to share with you featuring the new August Crafty Boo Crew Club of the Month products from Spellbinders. So happy that they dedicated August to the Halloween theme, I’m really enjoying it, and the club products are all going to work so well with my existing stash for lots of mix and match fun. All products used are linked in the table at the end of the post.
First up is a card featuring the fun Press & Foil of the Month Club: Boo! Humbug. You get the scary ghost shadow as a press plate, along with some fun sentiments, and then the die to cut out the happy ghost (he also popped up on one of yesterday’s cards). I used the ghost shadow plate in my BetterPress system with some black ink over a ready inked background. In the All Clubs Crate this month you get a mini black BetterPress ink pad instead of Glimmer foil. I hot foiled one of the sentiments using opaque white foil, and finished the card with some white dimensional dots.
Now for some tags! One thing I’ve really been enjoying over the past year is creating tags and other pieces both to give away and to display in my craft room. It’s really fun to create on a different canvas than a card front, and I find it does help get the creative mojo going if I’m feeling a bit low energy.
I used a WRMK Tag Punch Board to give me a nice even cut on the top of my tag.I dug it out of a drawer and dusted it off, and I’ve been having fun using it to create tags when I don’t want to use some of my fancy dies. After cutting my tag I ran it through the Embossing Folder of the Month: Happy Jacks, which is a really cute design of different Jack-O-Lantern faces. I gently sanded the raised design to help it stand out a little more, and inked the edges of the tag. Then the dies are all from the Small Die of the Month kit: Boo Crew Lab. These die cuts look really fun all used together, but they are also going to be a lot of fun to mix and match with other sets in my stash to create and enhance other scenes! I finished this one off with a stamped and embossed sentiment from the Clear Stamp and Die of the Month kit, and some black dimensional dots. I used the Crop-a-dile I’ve had for…probably fifteen years or more to enlarge the hole and set the jumbo eyelet at the top of each tag, before adding some ribbon and silver thread.
Then for this tag and the two below I used dies from the Large Die of the Month Club: Boo Mobile, which creates a really fun pumpkin car, but has some great dies that are just fun to use separately! I plan on creating something with the full set, especially as it is perfect for use with the new spinner discs from Spellbinders. I also used the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month sentiments again for these tags, all heat embossed using a bright white embossing powder on Spellbinders ColorWheel card in Raven (black).
I finished the tags off with some little crystal embellishments from Spellbinders.
I used another Spellbinders die set for the background and stars on this one: Bundle of Joy.
