I have been easing back in to more colouring again by tackling the pile of mermaid images I’ve had on my desk all summer. I had such high hopes and lofty goals. Honestly, the weather has just not been kind, and the heat has made everything a struggle. As an autumn/winter kind of girl, the heat absolutely gets me down, and with no air conditioning in my craft room/office my time in there has been limited quite a bit. But enough moaning! I finally finished colouring some mermaids from Sweet November Stamps. Their MerMay clear stamp release this year was as amazing as ever, so I wanted to make sure I used more of the stamps before summer ends!

I did a little partial die cutting to create a taller version of the memorydex card so I could fit both mermaids and the shark in my scene. The scene background layer was quite simple as it has the straight clean edges; I just did a partial cut to get the bottom, then lined the die up at the top and did another partial cut, this time leaving the lower part hanging off the edge so it didn’t cut. The mat layer was slightly more tricky with the intricate borders, so I just cut two pieces and trimmed the mismatched borders from one of the layers.

The background is not my colouring, it’s one of the handy A2 card fronts from Sweet November Stamps! The link for this gorgeous card front pack is down in the handy supply list below along with everything else.

No colouring video for this one, but you can find lots of mermaid themed videos on my YouTube channel in my Mermaid Colouring Playlist.
