I have two more cards to share featuring products from the Hero Arts HEROween 13 Days of Crafty Treats box! Very much late to the party, I still ended up having lots of fun with this kit.
It looks like both the US and UK Spellbinders/Hero Arts websites still have some boxes left at the time of writing this post – you can find links in the supplies table towards the end of this post.
Today’s cards were both inspired by two of Nichol Spohr’s beautifully spooky cards featuring the HEROween box. I went with some different colours and details, but the jumping off point was definitely Nichol’s cards. Nichol, along with my lovely friend Sue Hastead also inspired me to dig out my Distress Oxide ink pads, and I’ve fallen in love with them all over again! It’s always fun to rediscover an older favourite in your own stash.

This first card features an older Spellbinders club kit die set for the book stack – March 2024 Classic Tales Large Die of the Month. I think I might have to do a festive version of this for Christmas. It reminds me of the Stamping Bella Kristin Farnsworth rubber stamps: Tales from the Haunted Mansion and Christmas Stories are the Best. Reading has always been a favourite pastime for me, so I love anything book related.
I used Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot to create the background and stencil the moon.

I added the press and foil plate set with the flock of bats to my stash as soon as it came out, and this was the perfect first outing for it! I went for a blood moon look with my Distress Oxide background this time, and it was perfect for this scene. I used Candied Apple, Fired Brick, Wilted Violet and of course Black Soot to tie it all together. The bats were hot foiled over the top. I couldn’t resist adding the little Frankenstein’s monster to my graveyard scene. All of the dies come in the HEROween box.
